Scope and Contents This collection includes three typescript copies of the judicial business of the Providence Primitive Baptist Church of Gibson County, Indiana. Ranging from 1827 to 1845, the thirty case records consist of charges brought against members of the congregation for various transgressions, including intoxication, immoral conduct and non-attendance, anger and abrupt language, non-payment of debts, and dancing the Virginia reel.
