Scope and Contents
This collection includes photocopies of items related to Center Township, Rush County, Indiana, including docket entry records of the justice of the peace from November 1830 to September 1831; school attendance records for District No. 3, Township 15, Range 10 from November 1845 to February 1846, certified and signed on March 27, 1846 by the teacher, Gabriel F. Sutton; the treasurer's book of the Shiloh United Presbyterian Church Sabbath School containing entries ranging from 1884 to 1892; and a program for meetings of the Young People's Christian Union (Y.P.C.U.) of Shiloh United Presbyterian held May-November 1901.

Historical Note
Rush County, Indiana, named for Revolutionary War physician Dr. Benjamin Rush, was organized in 1822. The county is divided into twelve townships and Rushville serves as the county seat. Center Township was established in 1830 and John Hudelson served as the first justice of the peace of the township. The Shiloh United Presbyterian Church was established in Center Township in 1835.
