Historical Note

The Arcadia Methodist Church was founded in Arcadia, Indiana following a series of revival meeting conducted by Reverend J.W. Diefendorf from August 1867 to April 1868. The first services were held in the Albright Church and then the Evangelical church was purchased in 1870. Reverend Raymond J. Wade was appointed to the church in 1897 and a new church was built and dedicated on March 18, 1900 during his pastorate. The church was sold in 1966 and the church began sharing facilities with the Atlanta Methodist Church until a new church was built. On July 2, 1967, the churches merged to form the Trinity United Methodist Church.
