This collection comprises a letter from Ward Woodbridge Hudson to Col. A. May in New York on November 21, 1851. Hudson requested a “trifling favor” from May because of their friendship, asking for May to secure for him a commission from Indiana Governor Joseph Albert Wright. On the back is a message from May for forwarding the letter and his recommendation to Governor Wright. Wright made a note of acknowledgement, stating that the secretary of state would help the application move forward.
