William Campbell letters

The first letter is undated and is addressed to “Respected Wife.” He mentions the steam boat Wisconsin, and “our iron horse … roaring like he would tear things to pieces.”On November 1, 1849, William wrote to James F. Harney about the possibility of the two of them rooming together. He said his health was bad. He wrote: “My desire is that on these local matters we be united.”...
