Scriven kept this diary while performing construction work in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana in 1942. The U.S. Government was building an ordnance plant for the war effort in Terre Haute. The diary covers roughly September-October 1942 and discusses Scriven’s time at work and at his boarding house.
