This single typed paper gives a short biography of Origen Thomson (1829-1882), who followed several career paths. He attended Decatur County Seminary and Hanover College. From 1850-1852, he studied medicine with Dr. Moody. Origen lived in Oregon for six years in the 1850s. He and his brother Orville published the Hoosier State newspaper in Lawrenceburg from 1858-1860. He was a surveyor for railroads and involved in the stone quarry business in Greensburg. Mr. Thomson was a Presbyterian.
