John and Charity Starks collection

 Collection — Folder: S1237
Identifier: S1237

Scope and Contents

One newsprint clipping from the National Archives, Washington, D.C. entitled "Memorial To Pioneers" is the only item in this collection. On the back of the clipping is typed: "These legends are the inscriptions that are written on the ledgers at the JOHN STARKS and CHARITY MEEKER graves, in Rossburg Cemetery north of New Point Indiana. A program dedicated to pioneers was given July 12, 1870."

The clipping is two columns with Charity Meeker Starks (1810-1867) on the left and John Starks (1806-1889) on the right. The biographies tell about ancestors (Neef family) back to Zurich, Switzerland, as well as Meeker and Starks relatives. No date is on the clipping. The name J.S. McKee is printed at the bottom.
