Biographical Note

Silas Adin Lingo was born on March 22, 1863, in Goshen, Ohio, to Adin Binns and Rebecca (Davis) Lingo. He was raised in rural Decatur County, Indiana. At 21 years-old, Lingo served as a teacher from 1884-1912. In 1912, he worked as a postal carrier in Milan, Indiana. On October 9, 1887, Lingo married Catherine Coffee in Ripley County, Indiana, with whom he had several children. He died in 1943 in Greensburg, Indiana.
