Murphy was able to obtain resources that furthered Baker’s research into the history of Spencer County, and especially Abraham Lincoln. Also contained in this collection are clippings from the Grandview Monitor of Baker’s writings on subjects related to his correspondence with Murphy.

Scope and Contents The collection contains a letter written by James H. Edwards to Miss Mertie Barker regarding her article on the Cyclorama building that housed the Battle of Atlanta. The Cyclorama had once been in Indianapolis, but was located at Grant Park in Atlanta, Georgia, at the time this letter was written.
