Attached to the April 22, 1910 letter from the engineer of the park is a copy of the War Department rules about monuments in the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Park. 85th Indiana Infantry Regiment veterans roster

Scope and Contents This collection includes photocopies of a roster of the 85th Indiana Infantry Regiment veterans who were living in Terre Haute, Indiana and the surrounding counties in 1892. The roster records the soldier's name, company and post office address. The list was compiled by Captain George Grimes, Jr. of Company I and the copy was made from the original that was in the possession of Grimes's granddaughter Helen Louise (Finch) Smith in 1968.

Scope and Contents This collection contains a copy of the petition created by Abraham Browning and members of the New Jersey clergy sent to the United States government to demand that the clergy remain free from conscription. Inside the petition is a letter from Browning instructing members to sign the petition. The document was created May 26, 1864 on New Jersey and the interior letter written July 1, 1864.

A note he entered at the beginning of the diary states that he purchased it on December 17, 1862 in Memphis, Tennessee during the time he was serving with the 69th Indiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War.
