Scope and Contents The collection consists of a handwritten ledger book of labor for construction of the Fort Wayne and Southern Railroad in Blackford County, Indiana, in 1854, listing the names of workers along with the days and hours each worked. Additional notes are included for 1868. The time book was kept by David Miller Mercer, who was one of the investors in the railroad.
