His 173-page memoir begins with his enlistment in Company G, 52 Indiana Volunteer Regiment on October 28, 1861 and continues through to his mustering out on September 10, 1865 at Montgomery, Alabama and his trip home. Most of the cards are 2 1/2" high and 6" wide.
