Scope and Contents This volume contains a number of sketches by Libbie Coughlen in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Vigo County, Indiana from roughly 1864 to 1866 covering a variety of subjects, including scenes at St. Mary-of-the-Woods Institute. Most of the sketches are done using pencil and/or watercolor and focus on landscapes, crosses, flowers, buildings and exercises in perspective. Not all of the sketches are complete and some cover the entire page while some pages have multiple sketches on the same piece of paper....
