Scope and Contents
This collection includes one order book used by Pandell Florists of Indianapolis. The bulk of the entries are from 1927, but there are some from December 1926 and 1928. The volume is arranged alphabetically by the last names of customers and records types of flowers and floral arrangements ordered, prices, and addresses for delivery. Tucked in the back cover are several loose papers, including an April 1, 1927 rental receipt; a May 10, 1927 receipt for advertising in guest register of Severin Hotel; a May 24, 1928 order form and 3 undated order forms placed by a Dr. and Mrs. Humes; and undated statements of customer purchases.

Biographical Note
George P. Pandell was the founder and operator of Pandell Florists in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in Sparta, Greece, Pandell immigrated to the United States as a child in 1900. He operated floral shops in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Indiana before serving in Company A, 327th Machine Gun Battalion during World War I. Following the war, Pandell returned to the floral business in Indianapolis. Over his career, he operated floral shops in the Test Building on Monument Circle, on East Market Street just off the Circle, and at the northeast corner of 16th Street and Capitol Avenue. His business was variously known as George Pandell Flower Shop, Pandell Florists, and Pandell's Florists. Pandell died on June 20, 1974 and was survived by his wife, Irene O. Pandell.
