Scope and Contents This collection contains photostat copies of newspaper articles written in 1897 about the renovations and reopening of the English Opera House in Indianapolis, Indiana. The short editorial that praised improvements to the theater that would make it a safe and fire-proof building for its patrons was published July 26, 1897 in the Indianapolis News, not in 1896 as identified on the photostat.

Sullivan in Indianapolis, Indiana ranging from 1861 to 1960 and undated, regarding theater and Indiana history and historical figures, particularly the life and works of Hoosier playwright Joseph Arthur and English's Opera House in Indianapolis.
