The oldest document is an indenture made February 19, 1818 between Samuel Lindley and William Hobbs. A newspaper article dated January 16, 1914 has the headline, "Old Documents, A Letter One Hundred Years Old Still in the Possession of E. Hicks Trueblood -- The Most Remote Ancestors." The collection comprises materials Webster Parry collected from Society of Friends monthly meetings, beginning in the 1880s. He compiled the information into separate record books for each Quaker community, not only from Indiana but also Miami County, Ohio. The information includes births, marriages, and deaths, beginning in 1708 and continuing through 1928 when he donated them to the Indiana State Library. The books were microfilmed in April 1964.
