Scope and Contents
This collection contains various items related to Morgan County, Indiana and its communities. Folder 1 includes a handwritten list of fourteen historical firsts regarding Mooresville, Indiana from an April 21, 1902 letter possibly written by Ida Fogleman; a circa 1960 typewritten essay by an unknown author about the establishment of the Mooresville School by the White Lick Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends; and a photostat copy of a 1958 typewritten history of the Morgantown Methodist Church by an unknown author.
Folder 2 includes a circa 1916 souvenir print of the Mooresville Public Library that was printed compliments of the Claude E. Watson, proprietor of the Corner Durg Store; a broadside advertisement for the Martinsville Annual Fall Foliage Festival from 1965; and a 1970 tour map of Morgan County along with a list of 57 places of note marked on the map.

Historical Note
Morgan County, Indiana, was established in 1822 and was named for Revolutionary War General Daniel Morgan. The county has several cities and towns, including Bethany, Brooklyn, Martinsville, Mooresville, Morovia, Morgantown, and Paragon. Martinsville, the largest city, is the county seat and Mooresville is second in population.
