Scope and Contents This collection contains postage stamps from the Sullivan Memorial Collection that were sent in January 1941 by George H. Sullivan of New York City to Verne Patty, curator of the Indiana State Museum. The stamps are post marked from 1857 to 1860 and were originally used on correspondence from Sullivan's family members. The collection also includes a photocopy of a February 20, 1941 handwritten note sent by Sullivan to Patty with a rare "City Dispatch" stamp postmarked May 28, 1859; three stamps...

Scope and Contents This collection includes three handwritten letters sent to Verne Patty in October and December 1931 from Andrew Ness, a stamp dealer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In the letters, Ness discusses the condition and value of stamps that Patty had sent to him. One of the letters was written on the back of a small broadside advertisement for Ness's business.
