This collection consists of letters to Hannah Johnson from George Johnson of the 65th Ohio Regiment and Amos Johnson of the 4th Ohio Regiment. Also included are other Civil War letters from Hamilton County and the 46th Indiana Regiment. The collection also has school papers, teachers’ licenses, certificates of the Mapel Oil Company, Terre Haute, Indiana and advertisements for lectures and theatrical performances in the area.
There is also an oversize shares certificate which belonged to Eugene L. Nagel from the State House Building Association, dated February 20, 1899 (OB097).
Non-Civil War correspondence centers around Hamilton County, Indiana from correspondents, which include: Sarah F. Baker, Ann Sunberry, Frances Hussey, Carl Hussey, and Sadie Hill.
