Jackson, Executive Vice-President of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, to the Board of Directors of the Chamber. The letter relates a July 13 confidential memo from one of their "Washington contacts" regarding the Emergency Powers Act and growing concerns over how the American economy might be subjected to wartime controls due to the United States entrance into the Korean War.

Scope and Contents This collection includes an August 1, 1949 letter sent by the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce to Indiana Congressman John R. Walsh. The letter was sent in response to an item in Walsh’s July 11 newsletter that stated that there was a lobbying campaign against cooperatives by a "Power Trust" funded by the National Tax Equality Association.
