Scope and Contents This collection includes the copy of a letter and envelope from Joseph F. McCarthy to Seth Hammond on November 23, 1862. Writting from Camp Carrington in Indianapolis, Indiana, McCarthy describes the business of his army regiment while waiting to leave for Arkansas as well as news of people from home.

Scope and Contents This collection includes photocopied letters of the William Thurman family, including letters written during the Civil War. On January 16, 1861, Floyd Thurman wrote to his brother Marion about visiting the city of Evansville. The January 29, 1861 letter to "Esteemed Friend" (Marion Thurman, Grandview, Spencer County, Indiana) has a photo of Major-General Siegel on the envelope. This letter, written by J. M.
