Scope and Contents This collection includes a series of photocopied letters primarily between Daniel Bailiff and his wife, Harriet. The correspondence spans from 15 December 1861 to 10 August 1864. In addition, the collection has a copy of Bailiff’s discharge certificate from the Union Army, a brief history of Bailiff’s church, a money order from Bailiff to his brother, obituaries of Bailiff and his wife, and two newspaper articles about Bailiff’s son, Winthrop.
