Scope and Contents This collection includes typewritten transcriptions of letters written by James Marquis while serving with Company F, 7th Indiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War and sent to his mother and sister Margaret. The first letter was written April 12, 1863 at "camp on the field", the next was written December 17, 1863 from "Relleys Ford, Va."
