Esther U. McNitt and M. L. Moon letter

Scope and Contents This collection includes a typed letter from Esther Uhl McNitt in Indianapolis, Indiana to M. L. Moon in 1925. McNitt says she has heard through a mutual acquaintance, Kate Milner Rabb, that Moon was in possession of an almanac from 1751. McNitt encourages its donation to the Indiana State Library. At the bottom of the letter is Moon's handwritten response saying he is willing to donate the item and suggests Mrs. Rabb could handle the transmittal of the item.

Scope and Contents The collection consists mostly of almanacs and diaries of L.B. Graves, which date from 1881 to 1961. With the exception of Barker’s Illustrated Almanac, L.B. Graves used almanacs as diaries. L.B. Graves kept all diaries, except for a student diary kept by his wife. Dillingham, with the 1948 almanac signed and dated November 11, 1947 and the 1949 almanac signed and dated November 30, 1948.
