Scope and Contents This is a small travel diary written in pencil, about the 1908 French River trip taken by Ralph S. Norwood, Myles Sinnott, and Arthur L. Strauss. They left Indianapolis on Saturday, July 11, on the train bound for Callander, Ontario. After "a miserable hot night on the sleeper, we arrived at Buffalo." They walked across the Suspension Bridge to Canada. They took a train for Toronto, then a "steamer to Hanlon's point, one of Toronto's pleasure resorts. Sinnott and Strauss went swimming."...

John Hewitt Jones collection

Scope and Contents John Hewitt Jones wrote his biography, which is typed on seven long sheets. There are original documents and letters from 1793 through 1878. Several sheets give passenger names with their embarkation and destination on various riverboat trips. A document on blue paper, dated August 22, 1851, records resolutions for establishing the Rising Sun Wesleyan Seminary. In an envelope, hand-written diary pages and typed partial pages give historic information about Rising Sun from 1880 through 1887. ...
