Scope and Contents This collection includes an October 30, 1843 form letter sent by the David H. Maxwell, president of the Board of Trustees of Indiana University, to the "Board doing County business" in Jefferson County, Indiana regarding the law passed in the state allowing two students from each county to attend the university free of charge.
