Scope and Contents This collection is mostly hand-written letters in German. Augusta Sophia Eisenlohr's passport, issued in 1853, is in English. She was married to Gottlieb. The letters are from family members in Germany and Switzerland, as well as ones written by Gottlieb during the Civil War. He mustered into the 32nd (or First German) Regiment at Indianapolis on September 18, 1861, when he was 43 years old. Mr. Weigle served in Company C, and was discharged on September 7, 1864.
