Scope and Contents This collection contains a March 26, 1878 handwritten letter by John A. Logan that was sent to J.H. Osgood of Catlin, Vermillion County, Illinois. In the letter, Logan discusses the upcoming campaign in Illinois, Republicans and the need to be careful about who was nominated, and solicits Osgood's opinion. The collection also includes the envelope which is postmarked from Washington D.C.
