Collett family collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes handwritten notes and maps from the Collett family in Indiana dated 1818-1820. Among the materials are surveying and field instruments and a book of instructions of Stephen S. Collett. Additionally, the field map of Josephus Collett shows parts of original survey of Hendricks, Boone, and Montgomery counties, while John Collett’s field map depicts parts of original surveys of Owen and Putnam counties.

Also included are letters to Adam Crosier about his surveying work, letters to Lafe Crosier about family and farming, an 1866 campaign circular for Walter Q. Gresham, and comments on a speech by Joseph Albert Wright.
