This collection includes a charter for the Subordinate Union Club No. 6 issued by the Subordinate Union Club of Indiana in Indianapolis, dated June 16, 1862, authorizing present officers and members in Illinois to “do and perform all and every such acts and things appertaining to the U.C. organization, as have been and ought to be done for the safety and support of the Union...” The document has a handwritten notation at the top from J.
