This collection includes 67 photocopied pages of Samuel F. Mason's Civil War diary containing entries ranging from August 6, 1861 to September 9, 1864 and 1884. The diary includes the names of the men on a muster roll for Company D, 31st Indiana Infantry Regiment; descriptions of the marches, encampments, and battles of the regiment; and miscellaneous entries added later regarding the sale of butter.
