Biographical Note

Jacob and Mary A. Kreglo came to Indiana from Maryland in the early 1850s. The couple had at least four children: Sophia E., Ellen, Mary E., and Alice. Jacob Kreglo worked as a carpenter; Mary A. and Sophia E. Kreglo were probably involved in real estate.

John W. Rhodes was born in the mid-1830s in England. He immigrated to the United States and became a real estate agent. In the mid-1870s, he married Sophia E. Kreglo. Together they had at least one child, Mary, although there was probably at least one son born to the couple as well. Their grandson, John William Rhodes, was the proprietor of the Rhodes Pharmacy in Indianapolis.

Joseph Lauler was a member of the Association of Master Bakers and worked at a bakery in the Indianapolis area. He married Elizabeth Oeftering, and they had at least three children, Helen, Herman, and Ernest. Helen Lauler married John William Rhodes on June 15, 1922.
