Biographical Note
Hugh J. McGowan was born January 25, 1857 in Missouri. Brought to Indianapolis for work around the turn of the century, he established the Indianapolis Traction and Terminal Company in 1902. Two years later, the Indianapolis Traction Terminal and Interurban were established.
