Benjamin H. Myers letters and portrait

Scope and Contents This collection includes two letters, one typed and one handwritten, from Benjamin H. Myers in the United States while he was serving in the Union Army during the U.S. Civil War. The first letter is written while Myers was in Beverly, Virginia on July 17, 1861; the second while he was in Ringston, Georgia on May 22, 1864, just eight days before he would be killed in battle. There is also a hand-colored printed portrait of Myers.
