Biographical Note
Francis Silas Chatard was the fifth bishop of Vincennes (now Indianapolis). He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 13, 1834 and practiced medicine before becoming ordained. He had the SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral built and is buried there.

Joseph Gregory Dwenger was born April 7, 1837 and became the bishop of Fort Wayne on February 15, 1872. He died in that appointment on January 22, 1893.
