Scope and Contents
This collection includes correspondence from Fred Norris while serving during the Spanish-American War, family correspondence, newspaper clippings, and an autograph album, ranging from 1841 to 1943. The majority of the clippings are obituaries from residences from Richland Township of Whitley County, Indiana. There are also oversize marriage certificates, 1874-1900 (B052) and 1890-1900 (OB034). Later addition of letter from 1899/03/07 added from former S3195 collection.

Biographical Note
Fred Norris was born in 1879 in Indiana to parents Samuel H. and Mary E. (Null) Norris. In 1898, Norris served in the Spanish-American War. Following the war, Norris worked as a druggist in South Whitley, Whitley County, Indiana. Norris was married to Essie Norris. He died in 1960, and was buried at South Whitley Cemetery.
