Biographical Note
Harry Martin Stoops was born to Robert Martin (1842–1911) and Catherine "Kate" (Martin) Stoops (1846–1903) on June 16, 1866 in Franklin County, Indiana. He was the oldest of 5 children, with sisters, Lillie (Lillian) "Mae" (1869–1951), Ada (1872–1896), Sarah "Sallie" M. (1874–1914), and Martha O. "Mattie" (). Stoops received a B.A. in American History during 1893 from Indiana University and worked as a teacher and farmer, with a hobby of genealogy. Stoops died January 1, 1936 in Brookville Indiana and was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
Lillie "Mae" Stoops was born on June 1, 1869 to Robert Martin (1842–1911) and Catherine "Kate" (Martin) Stoops (1846–1903) in Franklin County, Indiana. She married Wilbert Rogers (1862–1923) on November 18, 1913. Mae Rogers died on August 2, 1951 in Brookville and was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Ada Stoops was born in 1872 to Robert Martin (1842–1911) and Catherine "Kate" (Martin) Stoops (1846–1903) in Brookville. She married James Bradburn (1868–1892) on January 28, 1890. Adab Bradburn died on June 17, 1896 in Brookville and was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Sarah "Sallie" M. Stoops was born on August 23, 1874 to Robert Martin (1842–1911) and Catherine "Kate" (Martin) Stoops (1846–1903) in Franklin County. She worked as a cashier in the hotel industry. Stoops died of pulmonary tuberculosis on August 7, 1914 in Brookville and was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Martha "Mattie" O. Stoops was born on September 20, 1877 to Robert Martin (1842–1911) and Catherine "Kate" (Martin) Stoops (1846–1903) in Indiana. She worked as a secretary and stenographer and lived in Boston, Massachusetts and Los Angeles, California. Stoops died on August 10, 1950 in Los Angeles.
