This collection includes letters, photographs, newspaper articles, and other materials from Jacob Baldwin in Indianapolis, Indiana ranging from 1898 to 1964 regarding World War 1 military life, family, education, employment at the Barbasol Company, and interurban railways.

There is also an undated panoramic photograph of Company C, 152nd Infantry (OBD026).

Biographical Note

Jacob Raymond Baldwin was born August 3, 1886. Baldwin attended public schools in Seymour, Jackson County, Indiana. He and his wife, Jennie G. Baldwin (1890-1978), had two daughters, Edna M. and Helen G. Baldwin later lived in Indianapolis, where he worked as a mixer of ingredients for the Barbasol Company, which manufactured the well-known brand of Barbasol shaving cream, beginning in 1935. Jacob Baldwin died in February, 1982.
