Biographical Note
John Vance, a slave owner, was conducting business with Thomas L.S. Perdue in Sumner County, Tennessee in 1846.
Thomas Perdue, a farmer and slave owner, was born on December 27, 1827 to Matthew and Nancy Perdue in Sumner County, Tennessee. In 1850, he married Martha Ann Neel and together they had two sons: Thomas and Robert.
Thomas Perdue died on December 20, 1895 in Portland, Tennessee. He was buried at Neal Cemetery in Sengtown, Tennessee.
