The collection consists of part of a disassembled scrapbook containing poems, newspaper clippings, and notes from an unknown creator in the United States, ranging from 1909 to 1946 and undated, concerning poetry, art, music lyrics, poets, and journalists, many concerning or from Indiana creators. The bulk of the collection is clippings from newspapers and other sources.
Known poets and lyricists included: James Whitcomb Riley, William M. Herschell, Edgar A. Guest, Mary E. Bostwick, Francis Scott Key, Rose Hartwick Thorpe, Max Ehrmann, James B. Elmore, Anne McQueen, Theodore Garrison, Emma Colbert, M. W. Anderson, Emily Dickinson, S. E. Kiser, A. W. Saint, Louis Dorn, Ethel Lippmann Patterson, Nixon Waterman, Sam Walter Foss, S. W. Gillilan, Tom M. Morgan, Kate Trader Barrow, Arthur J. Burdick, Washington Gladden, Joaquin Miller, Wilbur D. Nesbit, C. E.
