Historical Note

The Western Register and Terre Haute Advertiser was a weekly chronicle published by J. W. Osborn in the city of Terre Haute and distributed from July 1823 till May 1829, at which time it changed its name to the Western Register and continued operation into 1832. With over 300 issues produced, the usually four-page periodical featured news stories related to the nation and state, local news, and advertisements and offerings.
