This collection includes a copy of Sesquicentennial, 1818-1968, a booklet printed in 1968 by the Wirt Baptist Church of Wirt, Indiana in preparation of the church's celebration of its 150th anniversary. The booklet includes the history of the church, a list of the pastors who served the church from 1818 to 1968, and photographs of congregants who were members of the church in 1968.

Biographical / Historical

The Baptist Church of Jesus Christ on Harberts Creek was founded in Jefferson County, Indiana in 1818 and began with twenty-one members meeting in a small log house. At the turn of the century the church's name was changed to Wirt Baptist Church. The church is associated with the American Baptist Association and is still an active house of worship today.
