This collection includes a print of a circa 1960 photograph of the Fountain Park Hotel at the Foutain Park Chautauqua near Remington, Jasper County, Indiana. The image seems to have been clipped from hotel stationary and includes a partial letter written on the back.

Historical Note
Fountain Park Chautauqua near Remington, Indiana was the dream of local bank president Robert Parker. He purchased the park’s land in 1893 and built a tabernacle and restaurant on the site prior to the first assembly held there in 1895. A summer hotel was constructed in 1898 and is still in use today. Fountain Park is one of the longest continuously convened Chautauqua assemblies in the United States and continues to promote the concepts and values of the early Chautauqua movement.
