Scope and Contents This collection includes photocopies of typewritten transcriptions of letters written to and from Asa W., Jonah G., and Rice M. Porter and Porter family members while the brothers served in the Civil War. The bulk of the letters were written from July 1861 to March 1862, but there are two letters from Rice written in 1865.

Scope and Contents The collection includes two photostats presented by Mrs. William A. Wilson on September 20, 1826 in Jasper, Indiana on the 100th anniversary of the First Indiana Presbytery. The document covers the proceedings of the Indiana Presbytery from 1826 to 1844. In addition, it reviews the origin of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Tennessee and Kentucky and concludes with a letter from Reverend W.E. Gray from 1924.
