Marcus A. Wolfe collection
Scope and Contents
Wolfe requested that the Governor forward a poem he wrote in honor of Nancy Hanks, mother of Abraham Lincoln, to the Nancy Hanks Memorial Association. Because the Hanks Memorial Association had been disbanded several years earlier, Governor Gates forwarded Wolfe’s letter and poem to the Director of the Indiana State Library, Harold F.
