This collection includes an Indiana resident hunter's license, issued to Guy Montgomery on February 18, 1907 by the Commissioner of Fisheries and Game. The hunting license includes Commissioner Z.T. [Zachary Taylor] Sweeney's signature and a photograph of Montgomery.

Biographical Note
Guy Montgomery, son of Alva O. and Mary (Kenoyer) Montgomery, was born December 15, 1888 on a farm north of Kentland in Newton County, Indiana. He was a farmer and also operated a custom corn sheller and threshing machine. He married Hazel Wildasin in 1910 and they had two sons. A life long resident of Newton County, he made his home in Goodland after retiring. He died at the age of 89 on April 16, 1978.
