Historical Note
Tippecanoe Township in Carroll County, Indiana was established by the county commmissioners in 1830. A settlement of followers of the Associate Presbyterian Church, sometime referred to as Seceders, was established in the vicinity of Pleasant Run around 1831 and they organized the first church in the township. In September 1833, the church divided into Burnett's Creek and Pleasant Run congregations. The Pleasant Run members initially referred to themselves as the Associate Congregation of Pleasant Run. The church was later called the Pleasant Run Congregation.
