Scope and Contents
This collection includes a copy of a transcription of a notebook titled "Record of Missionary Meetings of the Second Judicial District of Indiana, 1854-1965." The record book contained the minutes of missionary district meetings from 1854 to 1863, the Washington County, Indiana Cooperation Organization meeting meetings from 1863 to 1865, and "A Short Sketch of the Church of Christ on Millcreek, Washington, Indiana," an essay written in the notebook by Josiah T. Johnson around 1902. The copy was transcripted and typed by Lennie Martin Berkey of the Christopher Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution from the original notebook that was in the possession of the Washington County Historical Society.

Historical Note
In the 1850s, the Second Judicial District of Christian congregations consisted of churches in southern Indiana from Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Orange and Washington counties. The district's missionary board consisted of one member from each county as well as a secretary and treasurer who were ex officio members of the board.
