Historical Note
The College Hill Church of Christ was founded in May 1869 in Pierce Township, Washington County, Indiana with thirty members. They met in a school house until the fall of 1874, when the church house was completed. Originally "Disciples of Christ," the church records began referring to the congregation as the "Church of Christ" in 1879 . The date of the last meeting in the church house is not known, but is believed to be sometime in 1956 or 1957. As required by the 1871 deed, the building and grounds reverted back to the owners of the farm from which the property was originally taken once the church ceased to occupy the property.
